This is a photo of my grandmother taken around 1920. Her name was Bess Hellerstedt, and she raised six children in Isabella, Tenn., Ducktown, Tenn., and McCaysville, Georgia. She taught school before she was married, the first of a series of teachers in our family.

Welcome, Sheila! What a fantastic photo. She is lovely and I love the sheerness of her dress or the wrap around her dress. I would love to see a photo showing the whole dress!

Sheila, this is a gorgeous photo. How fortunate to have such a lovely representation of your grandmother.
ReplyDeleteI love old photos, especially when they are passed down from generation to generation. Maybe that's what the world needs today, more lessons from our ancestors!
