Sheila T's Scrapbook: George

The month of March has gone by pretty fast. Several members of my family and some of my friends have birthdays in March. Last year my husband's brother George passed away in March, not long after his birthday on March 7. He was the kind of guy who was loved by every kid he met and whom animals instinctively adored. He is missed.

Sheila T's Scrapbook: Pink Saturday!

You never know with dogs. This dog, Roscoe P. Taylor, is a master of disguise. He always looks innocent of any wrongdoing, and he is usually guilty of something. He'll chew anything from firewood to a bobblehead of Edgar Allan Poe. In this photo he is reclining on a pink blanket while he chews on my daughter's fingers. He's a beagle mix who loves my husband more than me even though I am the woman who feeds him! You never know.

Sheila T's Scrapbook 2009: Friday's Family Foto

March 20 is my mother's birthday, so I am posting this picture of my grandfather, my grandmother, my mother, her twin brother, and her older brother. She is the baby who doesn't have its mouth open! The photo was taken in 1935. My Uncle Wayne doesn't look too happy about these new babies who have joined the family. Happy birthday, Mama!

Pink Saturday: Impatiens!

I usually give my mother some impatiens for Mother's Day, sometimes a basket, sometimes some plants for her flower beds. These photos show the shades of pink that sometimes appear!

Friday's Family Foto

This is a photo of my grandmother taken around 1920. Her name was Bess Hellerstedt, and she raised six children in Isabella, Tenn., Ducktown, Tenn., and McCaysville, Georgia. She taught school before she was married, the first of a series of teachers in our family.

Pink Saturday: My Friends!

This picture was taken when my friends and I went to a tearoom near Dahlonega, Georgia. There are seven of us called the Marigolds; we go somewhere together each month. Their names are Tabor and Mary; I liked their big smiles, the hats, and the pinks in this photo.

Thank you to Beverly at How Sweet the Sound who hosts Pink Saturday! You can find lots of other pink posts listed there.

Blue Monday: My Daughter's Dream House

For Blue Monday, this is my twelve-year-old daughter's dream house. She drew it for a school assignment. The wings on each side of the house at the bottom are for our dogs, Melvin and Roscoe...I would love it if they had their own wings! I liked her art for its use of color and details, and because I love her!

This is my second post for Blue Monday! Thank you for all the nice comments on the "Lady in the Tub" last week. For more blue posts, visit Smiling Sally; thank you, Smiling Sally, for hosting Blue Monday!
